Networking over Art, what could be better?
"Professional paths cross over the years and sometimes you just don't know why. Some are for a reason or a season, but some last and you become real friends. Meet the people I have been lucky to work with since 2017"
Yesterday I returned to the Island and met up with so many colleagues from all walks of my professional life.
It was a delight to see Lindsay and Clive Soord who I worked with at the ( Ceramic) Art department at East Kent Canterbury College. Chrissy Cooper (Fashion) Art Department at CSVA and now Leigh Academy on the Island. Cllr Mike Whiting who I served with on Swale Borough Council, Rev Dan Corcoran, now the Priest In charge at Sheppey Church of England. Who I volunteered with as I helped to set up and get funding for the GEMs awards in Faversham.
Last but by no means least, the amazing Maja who I mentored at the beginning of her Art Business journey and handed the reins over as Sheppey Coordinator for East Kent Artists Open House ( Sheppey) 2026 This young lady was a pleasure to mentor, and I am delighted to say that she is making such a success of her business and life.
I am so pleased that the EKOH exhibition is not only still running on the Island, after I was successful in getting funding to bring it there. But that it is growing and supporting so many local creatives. Last weekend to visit and purchase some incredible work all over the East Kent region..
What a fab day we had at The Dockyard Church in Sheerness.
