"I was delighted to be the winner of the Swale Borough Council, Mayor's Civic Award 2026. To also receive the special Award for my services to youth ( 18-30) was a real bonus. In my time on the Island I have mentored many young entrepreneurs, and I am delighted to say every one has either made a success of their business, learnt new skills and gained confidence to go into employment, volunteering or training. On my last day at Masters House, I accepted another 4 young budding business owners on to the 2 year program and I am proud to say the building is now full. My first mentee Nikita Dean Hart of NDH Productions is now a commercial client after completing her 2 years, and has a very successful podcast room in the building. She is a real star. Lauren Baker of LIT Biohazard & Trauma Cleaning Services is also ready to complete her 2 years too. This lady has been so proactive that she has appeared on TV and radio whilst building her company beyond her wildest dreams. This just shows that having a mentor that believes in you, and has the right contacts and bespoke advice can get your business to fly, sooner than you can ever dream.
